  let's start this over...in the right direction.. thanks to simon for providing this forum where we can discuss our experiences and issues with the wt society and the jw religion.

  anyone that knows anything about me at all knows that i'm not an ass kisser, but i think we forget what a pain in the ass it must be to keep a forum like this going.

  sure, most forums have flame wars and personality conflicts from time to time, but a forum about sports cars, motorcyles, basketweaving, and needlepoint don't have the same emotions and pain expressed in their subjects as this forum...as any ex-jw forum, as any ex-cult forum... does.. we're mostly a group of people who have been ostracized by family and so-called life long friends.

  I also am hugely greatful for this forum and simons running it... i can only imagine the frustration sometimes. It has been very important to me and i have found 99% of participants very nice and helpful.

  as for those who just seem to just cause nothing but deliberate conflict (as opposed to personality clashes) and truly fit the internet definition of 'troll', i believe they are doing this as a way to scare people away from here. When new people log in and see it decending into a morass of mud slinging, that suits the trolls purpose perfectly

  I for one, loath them and will not interact with them anymore if i can help it.

  yes, friends, this is another thread about the latest generation teaching.

  so, if you're sick to death of it, leave now, save yourselves.... anyhoo... as the wts has now unleashed on the world the true explanation of generation and what it means for those of us in this time of the end, dubs who accept without question this teaching are 'oohing' and 'ahhing' as the new explanation 'makes so much sense now'.

  Getting my children out

  my wife is still in and no matter what logic i show her, she still wants to continue with the cult.

  for me, she's a lost cause.

  i explained the 607 factor and her reaction to that was "well, that isn't important to me as i still believe, plus, there's no where else for me to go.".

  [LONG] Making a plan to leave... I have no friends :'(

  the title pretty much explains it all... i don't want to go too much into my story (for paranoid fear of identification), but i have been raised in the "truth", and got baptized at a young age- too young to truly understand what i was getting into.

  i still live with my parents, and as such don't want to make a move just yet, as it would destroy virtually everything i have left.

  as of now though, i see myself leaning towards agnosticism.. here's my short sob story.

  Man, i feel for you...

  AND your story is exactly why i must stop my kids from making that step!

  My kids are just like you were... not real sure its all right, especially about worldly people. And my greatest fear is that despite that they will sucumb to peer and parental pressure as well.

  Please dont hate yourself. Love yourself and your new found convictions. I lived a lie, was a hypocrite and that nearly destroyed my life.

  Factual errors in the literature

  i've been chipping away on a writing project--basically, an essay/web article.

  i thought i could ask for some input from the group while also creating an interesting thread.

  if it hasn't already been done to death someplace else, that is.. i'm working on a particular point regarding factual errors in the literature.

  When i was in, the watchtower and awake were in my mind gospel.

  If they said something was true, even against scientific proof or other facts, then i would roll with the magazines.

  Now i just see them as sloppy journalism with an agenda

  so lets have some factual errors presented!

  My authentic self was always in there. I just beat him down all the time. He was called the 'fleshly man'.

  the last 12 years have seen me shuck of the JW 'new personality' and bin it.

  And man o man! I am happy as teenager in a whore house!

  ps... i subsribe to the method of living: work LESS and play MORE. Exactly how i have structured it. Not too hard if you have no debt!

  I'd like to know who you were before you were baptized a JW? Were you raised a JW? What religion or denomination of Christianity did you profess before you became a JW.

  if you were a convert to the watchtower society , how well did you know the doctrines of the faith before your conversion?

  theodore ("ted") jaracz1925-2010.

  about 7:30, june 9, 2010, theodore ("ted") jaracz, one of the members of the governing body ruling over jehovah's witnesses, died.

  previously, on may 19, 2009, he had had a serious stroke, but recently seemed to have made a big recovery, giving some assembly talks.
